The Global War On You Know Who

"The West is facing a concerted effort by Islamic jihadists, the motives and goals of whom are largely ignored by the Western media, to destroy the West and bring it forcibly into the Islamic world -- and to commit violence to that end even while their overall goal remains out of reach. That effort goes under the general rubric of jihad."

Bush Wanted to Bomb Al Jizz?

The Daily Mirror reports the existence of a document allegedly revealing that President Bush wanted to bomb Al-Jazeera HQ in Qatar.
But he was talked out of it at a White House summit by Tony Blair, who said it would provoke a worldwide backlash.

A source said: "There's no doubt what Bush wanted, and no doubt Blair didn't want him to do it." Al-Jazeera is accused by the US of fuelling the Iraqi insurgency.

The attack would have led to a massacre of innocents on the territory of a key ally, enraged the Middle East and almost certainly have sparked bloody retaliation.
Um, and it would have deprived the enemy of a huge propaganda advantage.
A source said last night: "The memo is explosive and hugely damaging to Bush."
Sure, if you're a pampered multiculti wanker. On the contrary, it's hugely reassuring to those of us who still think fighting to win is perfectly okay.
A Government official suggested that the Bush threat had been "humorous, not serious."
Just joshin', huh. Well, it would also be reassuring to know that Bush's sense of humor reflects that of Ronald Reagan.
