Back on the Grid
Well okay, so it’s been more like six weeks. Several pressing matters have diverted my attention from blogging, but I’m back now. My apologies for the delay and thanks for your patience!
The jihadis have been busy little beavers since my last post, so let’s begin with a recap. Week one:
14 June: Suicide car bomber kills 15, injures 100 in Kashmir; Ansar al-Sunna suicide bomber kills 22 customers outside a bank in Kirkuk; meanwhile, Texas Gov. Rick Perry attends groundbreaking ceremony for new Islamic center in posh Dallas subrub of Plano.
15 June: Twelve former Guantanamo detainees recaptured or killed on the battlefield; Spicoli attends Friday prayers in Tehran, listens in clueless equanimity to ritual chants of "Death to America."
16 June: 42 muj captured by security forces in Algeria.
17 June: An estimated 500 jihadis are training in four terrorist camps in Sudan.
18 June: AQ #2 Ayman al-Zawahiri releases video calling for more jihad.
19 June: Jihad finding recruits aplenty in Europe.
20 June: Thousands rally in Pakistan to declare shenanigans on America.
21 June: Al Qaeda in Iraq announces the formaton of the Ansar platoon, comprised solely of native Iraqi suicide bombers, rather than foreign splodey-dopes.
22 June: A man was shot twice and beheaded in a tea shop in southern Thailand, the fifth such beheading in two weeks. Islamists in Thailand have been terrorizing the region since 2003, claiming discrimination while kidnapping children, murdering teachers, and beheading civilians.
23 June: Jihad in Australia: CI agencies foil attacks on the Melbourne Stock Exchange, the Harbour Bridge, and two Sydney oil refineries. Recruiting took place at a subrurban mosque (where else).
24 June: Taliban thugs burn down a girl's school south of Kabul.
More to follow.
